Spent Fly Fishing Pheasant Rump Patch

A pheasant rump patch gives you a range of feather sizes to pick through at the vise. Wrap a smaller feather around a trout fly for a soft collar, or choose a longer one when you want more movement in a larger fly. I like patches because you can see the shapes before you pull a feather—there’s usually more than one idea on the skin.
